here is a pic or a super c motor, clutch housing etc.... you can see the red painted cavity/rectangular hole where the hydraulic assembly sits, why is there a hole here, most dont have this, next to this hole is a small round threaded hole with a piece of paper towel sticking out, what is this for??? is this some sort of resevoir???

Not sure...gotta a better pic? Did you sandblast that chassis? I hope for your sake you did a perfect job of plugging everything, sand will destroy alot of stuff inside.

i took apart the complete tractor, down to bare bones, sandblasted, cleaned thoroughly and reassembled, pretty much new everything. I have been looking on case website, i found picture of a 200 chassis (clutch housing) it looks just like this one, it has a plugs with o ring showing screwing into the threaded hole, some sort of resevoir, guess this isnt the original housing???? maybe be one off a 200, I drove this tractor around before disassembly, hydraulics worked, tractor was in terrible condition.

Maybe its of a 230. The 230 had a resevior in the housing and of coures it didnt have touch control it had a different hydrolic sytem. Erik..

Dad bought, in Feb. 1956, one of the last Super Cs made that was a new carry-over. He had the choice of a 200 or the SC which was somewhat cheaper due to being discontinued. I was with Dad when he talked to the dealer and was told it was exactly the same as the 200 except for the sheetmetal. The HP, hydraulics, Fast-Hitch, were all the same. Maybe the latest SCs were using some newer designed parts. I do know it had no trouble pulling a 2x14" F-H plow, 7' tandem F-H disc, a 6' AC All-Crop combine, single row Wood Bros. corn picker, anything were thew at it. But, it also used about twice the gas of the C we had before that doing light things like mowing or cultivating.

Wouldn't be the first Super C that had the torque tube replaced. You could compare casting codes to see if it is newer than the block, rear frame, etc.
