How much is a Farmall seed planter worth + mower for sale

I found a guy that says he's got an original seed planter that goes on an A, super A, 140 etc. He also has a haban sickle bar mower.

I'm don't care about the sickle bar mower but he is asking $350. for both of them. He said the seeder is in good shape and was kept inside until he got it this fall.

I asked him if he had all the seed plates and he said he thought he did. But if he doesn't he said I can pick them up easily. The planter is no good to me if it does not have all the seed plates.

So how much is a seeder worth and does anybody want to buy a mower?
 
It takes a different planter for the A as it doesent have a hy system. So the SA planter would be dirrerent.
 
Richard that sounds like a good price if its all in good shape. You can probably get that much for the mower. I think i have seen the mowers sell for 350 but i think that was an IH mower.
 
Lincoln ag products makes plastic plates for IH planters. They have lots of sizes, but mostly for row crop stuff like beans, corn, sugar beets, etc.

Can you find the model number for the planter ? Since it is a for an A, SA, 140, is it a vegetable planter ? If so, $350 for a planter (one row I assume) is not too bad if it is all there and in working condition. However, finding plates for one of those might be another issue.

I saw that you were looking for information on planters a while ago. A friend of mine uses Stanhay planters. He likes them a lot, but they take a special belt for each type of seed.

Have you looked at the Roeters in Michigan or Market Farm Implement in Pennsylvania (?) websites ? Sometimes that have planters, but they are not giving stuff away either.

Roeters looks like a really good place for farm equipment.

I'm going to look at the planter and see if it is in as good shape as he said it is. It's a ways from here however.

Get some pictures and post them here. I'm a little concerned about it being paired up with Haban mower, as those mowers are usually mounted on a Cub Cadet or other garden tractor. Makes me wonder if the planter isn't really for a garden tractor.
