IH 2000 Loader on a 495

Anyone out there have any pics/comments on type of bracket(s) needed to mount an IH 2000 loader on a CaseIH 495? I know it attaches to the rear axle but not sure exactly the best/proper place to mount the front. I realize the brackets may have to be fabricated since this unit was manufactured prior to this model of tractor coming out.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, the recommended loader for 495 is CIH 1850 or 2250. Although almost any loader can be fitted to any tractor with a torch and welder to fabricate mounying brackets.

I found a picture of a 464 (same frame as 495) with a loader mounted on it. Not sure of model number of loader but looks similar setup to IH 2000 loader.
Hope this helps

The front loader rails appear to just sit on the front brackets. Because the loader is securely attached to the axle it can't fall off.

What you need to do is get the loader situated in place on the tractor, and bolted to the rear axle. Then get some heavy steel plate and build a set of brackets to locate and support the front frame of the loader at the mounting pads on the front of the tractor.

The front brackets need to keep the loader from moving side-to-side, and need to hold it level.

Personally, I would figure out a way to bolt the front rail of the loader to those front brackets so it won't try to lift off when you push down or dig with the bucket.

Here's what the brackets for a 2001 loader on a Farmall 504 tractor look like. They're 14" front to back overall, the big support sticks out 5 1/2" and the angled tab 3" to the side. The big one slides into the channels of the loader and the tab in front holds it in place. The loader can lift the front of the tractor with no problem.

The extensions on the front of the brackets you see fit into the channel at the front of the loader frame. That keeps the loader from lifting up. The 504 brackets shown are complete.

The extensions in front sit on top of the loader frame to hold it down when the bucket is pushed into the ground. The ones on the side fit inside the channel and support the loader when it's raised. At least that's how I mount it...

You missed the 2200.

The 1850 was not available (new) in the 495 era. We had an 1850 years ago on a 384. The 2200 was the factory loader unless someone wanted to put a 2250 for the quick attach or something bigger for fwa. I've seen 2200, 2250 and 2255 on 485/495 tractors, but 2200 was most common here.

looks as of mounting the 2000 will require the floor boards and steps to be removed (or at least the steps) and possibly roll bar if equipped as the ROPS hoop bolts to the rear axle on these.

Personnally I'd get another loader...but Jim is right...anything can fit with a welder and torch!
