The amp. guage on my WD-9 shows only discharge when I turn the lights on.(tractor is running)Iam trying to determine if it is the voltage reg. or the generator, that is not working.. Where do I start..Thanks..

what you need is the super duper charging system checker outer information from our very own young, handsome, and multi-talented.........John T !!!!!!!!!!! here ya go!!!!!
poke here

You didn't provide a heck of a lot of detail but I'll assume this is not one of those take a screwdriver and turn up the genny situations? Onliest reason I ask is that, depending on the tractor, lights can drag the heck out of the electrical system. One in particular out there now comes to mind. I carry a screwdriver on the tractor just to adjust the genny up for night operation. Turning on my lights can drag the ammeter reading into the negative if I do not.

John T info is premium stuff, Glennster provided it below. I will ad that unless it is running 3/4 throttle or more it will not charge with the lights on no matter. Does it charge with the lights off? If so it may be as simple as a loose belt. JimN

I will rev it up on a warmer day with lights on and off and let everyone know... Thanks for all your input...
