Just picked up a 140

Just picked up a Farmall 140. Like most older tractors it needs a little TLC. Is there a good book with lots of pictures that will help me get this tractor back into shape?

Thanks

As in a Step by step book? Then yes, I purchased one its called "How to restore classic farmall tractors" it has step by step process of where to start, how to do each task (lots of pics) and has a great index of locations of reproduction parts, tires, and salvage yards in the back of the book. I would recommend it.

(quoted from post at 14:27:49 12/31/09) Have you looked at Fay's number series book?
Dave:
If you mean Guy's "Hundred Series" book, it does not cover the 140. Does he have another number series book which does?
Such an interesting tractor. Basically the last (and best) version of the "A", a span from 1939 thru 1979.

Few things are any better than the Operator's and Service manuals for the tractor, and the Parts Catalog if you're going to be working on it.

There are a few pics and smoe discussion of in itn Ken Updike's book, "International Harvester Tractors, 1955-1984" It's written for different purpose than Guy Fay's book on the Hindreds (and covers a LOT more tractors!), so it won't go into much detail on a 140, but still a very nice book.

The book Farmall H recommends can be a good one, too, if you plan to work on it. It has a lot of little odds and ends tips in it that might be helpful to you.
