Hi All,
How much compression did the M and or Super M have when using the 8500ft.alt. pistons when using the 8060 head? Just wondering, I had heard that the dome was close to an inch tall.

i would think right around 135-145psi this would be without decking the head.

I believe Andrew is correct - or at least very close. Maybe in the 150 range. I base that on the fact I have a SM with stepped pistons (not as much dome as 1") and get right at 130 psi with an 8060 head.

I have the factory cast iron 5000' alt. pistons with the 8060 head and have 145 lbs. of cranking compression. I was looking for more.
