Super A head gasket

I"m replacing the head gasket on a super A, the new gasket came with two extra copper o-rings, where do they go, and should I use a sealant when installing the head gasket, thanks.

They go on top of the valve cover under the fasteners. I use a little silicone to help seal them.

I recently replaced the head gasket on a 140 (c-123). I wire brushed head and block surfaces with a wire brush on a grinder. I used Permatex copper spray-a-gasket on both surfaces of the gasket. Torqued to 87 ft-lbs. No problem. I didn't use any copper 'O' rings. I left the exhaust manifold attached to the head. Of course torque head bolts in the proper sequence.
