Adam Wiles MD

I haven't talked to him yet to see wether or not he still has the original pistons and sleeves but if not I would be interested in the block or pistons and sleeves that you have. Thanks

He said that the #1 cylinder sleeve was pitted and allowing oil past the rings so he tore it down to rebuild the motor. He came across some 4" sleeves so he put them in but ran out of money to finish the job. I've been playing phone tag with him so it's been tough trying to get info... I really appreciate your message though. Thanks

(quoted from post at 16:59:52 12/28/09) Friend of mine has a complete MD he'll sell for parts. Good head, ect. 515-298-3062

If it is complete why is he going to part it out?

I agree if it is complete it is worth more together then in parts most of the time. If it runs why kill it? if its complete and restorable I would sell it complete. But just m 2 cents,

(quoted from post at 19:04:50 12/28/09) That's what I was trying to figure out! Why tear apart a complete tractor?! I hate to see that happen!

IIRC it was an Iowa number the guy gave. I can go pick it up and store it for you :)

No, we had Christmas with my FIL today and I didn't call around to the shops. I am going to get the injectors rebuilt. No shop to work on it in the winter so it will probably wait til warmer weather.

Ok well I can give you a couple names for rebuilding them.

Central Fuel 712-362-4200
I have a couple more but cant find numbers
One is Eau Claire Diesel Eau Claire WI

Have the patterned at a local tractor shop. See if they are flowing ok. Good Luck

Any luck with Huckstorf Diesel in Franklin/Milwaukee
Diesel Injection Service/DIS in Madison

I only wonder bc they are both within an hour driving distance.

I take it you are from the Eau Claire area???

Nope actually from the baraboo area. About a hour north of madison as far as the one in franklin I have not had any experiance in. As for the diesel injection I know he has done work in the old gas over ih I had seen he had a wd6 that he had redone he would do a good job I"m sure he does a lot of ag stuff I know. Where you from?

You might as well say Janesville. I know where Baraboo is. My great aunt used to live in Sauk City.

I think the guys name is Ray out of DIS. He has a 1468 IIRC. I stopped at their booth at Farm Technology Days, but he was out. They said he knew quite a bit about gas start diesels. I think I saw his tracter at RPRU, but he wasn't by it then either.

It's stuck, needs tires. More work than he wants to do right now. He had the head cleaned and magnafluxed. Buy the whole thing if you want. He'll make you a deal.515-298-3062

Is it dry stuck or stuck from water? Dry stuck is a lot easier to deal with. Water stuck is probually going to mean a full rebuild of engine and very costly. Does it have a good head? Does it have a good pump?

Head is good, valve seats could be touched up, The exhaust manifold had a can tight over the pipe, but it looks like the center pistons got some moisture. Don't know about the pump.
