Super A cultivator attachment to lift system

Can anyone send me a picture or tell me how to mount the rod with a spring for the cultivators to the lift system? Thanks.

You're missing some parts there on the T/C arm. There are pins with a head to make them look like a flat-head rivet that fit into the larger holes from the face you're looking at in the picture, and hold the rod or whatever else is hooked up there in place.

The head of the pin is held in place by an oblong, rounded diamond-shaped piece of flat steel. The center of this retainer has a small hole in the center, and the tension comes from a pin and spring held in place by a cotter pin (VERY similar to the arrangement on your throttle lever) that pass through teh small hole in the center of the arm. There is then a larger hole at each end of the diamond that is slightly smaller than the head of the pin to be retained.

The idea is that the ppring in the center puts tension on the retainer to hold the poins in place. To release them, you just turn the retainer against the spring tension and turn it sideways to release the heads of the pint.

If you know how to get to the parts lookup on the CaseIH website, look up the Super C, click on hydraulinc system, and then pick p 149. Parts 15 and 16 in the illustration are the small center pin and spring, #20 is the retainer that turns on that pin, and #21 is the larger pin that would hold the arm from the implement in the rockshaft arm.

I don't know where you would find them other than as salvage. You could try Bates or Steel Wheel Ranch. I got some of the large pins from Glen Mlnarik at Little Red Tractor Company. I don't know if he might have the other parts or not, but it would be worth checking.

Might also try external_link. All you have to do is type in Farmall and the part number. Phone call might help also, as I don't know if everything is online. They have most of it.

I made my pins out of carraige bolts and ground the squared part off and trimmed it to length. I nade the retainer out of some scrap metal i had. probably made the pin that holds the plate also and added a spring and cotter pin.

hopefully someone will have a pic to look at.

Steiners has the pins. If you can find one they can be made out of 1/2 inch 8 hard bolts. They are about 10 bucks apeice at Steiners.
