350DU thermostat question

Merry Christmas guys.

I have a 350U diesel, I'm putting back together, my question is how is the thermostat held into the engine head? Can't find any good pics, seems like many models have a spacer to keep the T-stat tight against the head. I believe someone glued the old one into the head.

If I remember right, when I did my Farmall 350D I had to buy a special thermostat that fits between the head and the thermostat housing. Looking back in my file, I see I bought it from CaseIH and the part number was 313942R92. Roger
