706 loader plumbing

I finally got the hydraulic fittings fixed on my loader. Now it's time to plumb everything. As others have mentioned, I have 3 sets of hydraulic ports, 1 on each side of the steering column and 1 in the rear.
I plan on using the left steering column ports with my external loader valving (1 lever-bucket control, 1-lever-lift control, 1 lever for future grapple).
My questions:
1) Do I just tie back the left hyd lever?
2) Does it matter which hyd port I use (ie should the top port be the inlet or outlet going to the loader valving)?
3) Do I have to do anything special to the draft controls during loader operation?
Thanks.

Works fine to tie the lever either way, swapping the hose outlets changes direction of flow. Probably works best to tie back due to float position in full forward. However!!! is your loader control valve "open" or "closed" center, for older IH's it needs to be for open center, that means oil must flow through the system when the loader valve is in neutral. There are plugs that you install or remove according to what you have. If it came off a JD it will need to be changed.

The plugs would have to be changed in your loader valve, not the tractor. No draft control settings to change or worrin with.

It's an older Schwartz 2070 loader, which supposedly came off a 966, not sure about the open or closed center.

If it was on a 966 before then you shold be OK. IH"s are open center up until the change to priority system during the later 86 series. Not an improvement in my opinion just more expense!
