Cub Deluxe Seat

I was reading that Cub's equipped from the factory with the Deluxe Seat option have a bent shift lever. Does this mean you can't replace the standard pan seat with a Deluxe seat unless you also replace the shift lever?
Thanks

Hi Bud
I did the same
You have to replace or bend the shifter
The stock shifter will hit the seat
I chose to bend my shifter
the down side is that the shifter spins
I just deal with it
I also used my stock tool box just turned it around
Good luck

My 1955 cub has a bent shifter, but a pan seat and I have seen others at RPRU this year that are the same. Some of the books on the subject say that the bent shifter was for the deluxe seat. Any comments...?

The bent lever was used on standard Cubs only with the deluxe seat. Offset Lo-Boys all had the bent lever. The bent lever on EARLY Cub Cadets was the same.
