Rustyfarmall - What did you mean by "do not send to china".
Seems like they would have enough capital to buy all the new Kubotas they want. Is there a lot of American tractors going to China?

"Send to China" is slang for scraping.

Stricly speaking, the phrase is not entirely correct.

I believe most scrap leaving east coast ports goes to Turkey and most of that is converted into rebar.

The scrap from the midwest usually goes to nearby electric furnace mini-mills. This is one reason why that scrap brings less money than coastal scrap.

China and other far east countries such as Korea and Japan bound scrap is collected in the western states.

Pakistan and India also use alot of scrap but I think alot of that comes from ship breaking.

Transportation is a major cost in the scrap business. 18 months ago when Boston, MA scrap buyers were paying $400+ per ton, they were delivering the same scrap to Turkey for more than double that.
