Wagner loader and backhoe parts

I"ve bought a 1960 International 240 industrial with a Wagner 110 loader and a 65 backhoe attached.

I"d like to find a parts source for these. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been looking for wagner parts for my hdraulic cylinders. I did not find any drop in model specific parts. If you take the parts to a full service hydraulic bussiness they should be able to help you. I think there are web sources that have the pump breakdown etc.. You need to find a hydraulic "go to guy". I got 240U steering parts from here... http://www.jptractorsalvage.com/
Don't know if they have Wagner parts, but wouldn't hurt to check. Mine has a 120 Wagner loader and 3 point and if I ever need cylinder or valve help, there is a hydraulics repair shop in town that can supply seals and rebuild parts from most major manufacturers.

Can you post 3 or 4 different pictures of the backhoe. I have a wagner hoe and would like to find what model I have. Thankyou!! Armand

I"ll try to get some pictures. The tractor is still where I bought it (in a weed patch) and we"ve had snow.

My biggest concern is with the hydraulics. The hoe"s valve body is pretty rusty and all the cylinders have rust blisters. I know I do need the hoe seat and the frame that supports it. Mine"s gone.

As far as looking up Wagner loaders, hoes, etc. Wagner no longer makes or supports these. Most of the links I"ve found are for Ford 8N systems. I don"t know how close they are to mine.

Thanks for all the tips. How did we ever get anything done before the Internet?

"How did we ever get anything done before the Internet?"

The convenience of the Internet may be working against you here. Before the Internet, you'd check through the yellow pages, and whatever you couldn't find, you'd make with your torch, welder, and scrap metal pile.

You will probably need to fabricate any missing parts, and weld up anything that's broken. The hydraulic stuff is pretty generic, though, so you should be able to find it at a machinery dealer or hydraulic shop.

I have a 240U with a Wagner 110 or 120 loader. There is a very good IH Blue Ribbon Service Manual (GSS-1283) for Wagner loader/backhoe installations, which shows detailed service procedures. I found mine on eBay. I"d love to find a Wagner backhoe attachment to put onto my 240U. As for finding maintenance parts (O-rings,etc), you might try an IH dealership such as Hoober, as Wagner/IH was a joint venture. Structural parts, just don"t know. Would like to see photo of yours.

Maintenance parts like O-rings, gaskets, packings, hoses, couplers, and fittings, can be found many places. You may need to resort to a shop that specializes in hydraulics for some of it.

If a hydraulic cylinder is bad enough, you should replace it with another generic cylinder of the same size.

Structural parts are NOT AVAILABLE, period. Wagner hasn't made a loader or backhoe in decades, and even when they did, they didn't make many. Most of the ones they did make have been scrapped because, well, it's been 50 years and they've simply worn out, or were replaced by newer faster machines.

The only reason we can still get parts for old tractors like the M is because there are so many of them still running, and it's profitable to make parts for them.

I just got a Blue ribbon service manual via Ebay and will read it cover to cover. I"ll try to get pics when I can. More snow predicted....

I also got a "Surplus Center" Catalog and they've got a GA-Zillion Cylinders, valves, pumps, etc. Some so cheap I seriously doubt I could get a cylinder rebuild cheaper. It would mostly be a mater of size and ends. If you don't have a catalog they still mail you one the "ole fashion way".

Surplus Center is AWESOME! If you just happen to be able to use one of their oddball cylinders, you can make out like a bandit.

Beware that they add on an extra handling charge above and beyond shipping.

Very interesting. I wonder what happens if ou show up at their store? Can you buy those items for the catalog price - less charges?

Armand

I have an original brochure of Wagner backhoes and loaders for IH tractors, and the backhoes are either Model 65 or 95. There are pages with photos of each. If you PM me your email address, I'll send them to you as attachments. I don't believe attachments can be sent via this site.

We had several 40 degree days and a lot of snow melted. I finally was able to go out and get some pictures of the tractor. I was able to confirm that the Loader is a Wagner 120 and the hoe is a Wagner 65. I removed the carburetor and the distributor so I can rebuild them. I was told that the radiator leaks as well so next time I plan on pulling it to assess the damage. I was also able to jump the starter and it turned over nicely. I hope to get it running where she sits. It's heavy and driving it onto a trailer will be a lot easier than trying to push/pull it.

Just thought I'd update that I got it running and it runs very well. I still have all the hydraulics to rebuild as well as sandblasting, painting, etc.

It sure was exciting to have it fire up after such a long ordeal getting it running. I hope to have it home this week.
