The engine on my '50 M is rebuilt, reassembled and ready to go back on the bell housing. Everything from the transmission forward up to and including the bell housing is rebuilt and the liftall is already in place. I have a new Rockford clutch and pressure plate ready to go, and the flywheel has been re-surfaced at the machine shop.

My question is about clutch adjustment. The blue ribbon manual describes the proceedure for adjusting the clutch through the liftall opening. I'm trying to avoid pulling the belly pump out again if possible. So do I need to remove the belly pump, or is there some technique I can use to to assure that the clutch is in adjustment before reinstalling the engine?

Any suggestions ??

Thanks in advance.

If you have a new (or rebuilt) pressure plate do not do any adjusting to the levers. They will have been adjusted on a jig that will get the adjustment much closer that you will be able to do it in the tractor. The only adjustment you should have to make is to the rod back by the pedal to get the correct free travel.
