Hooking up single action valve on 300 Utility

Can anyone post a diagram on how to hook up the 300 utility Hydraulic valve? I want to use it to lift a snowplow cylinder. I believe I have to switch the valve over to single action since the plow cylinder only has one hydraulic line running to it. But the valve has two lines. Do I cap one? How do I hook it up? Thank you.

On the row crop you took the hood off to get to the valves so you can take a wrench and twist a knop from D to S position. No need to cap a hose as twisting the knob will do what has to be done. I think the valves are more open and easier to get to on the utilities. This is all explained a lot better in the owners manual a lot betters than I can and will have pictures of the valves also. Thanks for the reply Armand, Let me get this right. All I need to do is switch the control valve to "S" and then just connect the hydraulic line from the plow cylinder to the top hydraulic line on the valve? Or does it matter what line on the valve I connect to? I didn't see any info in the manual on how to connect the lines. Maybe I am just over thinking this hookup.. But want to be sure. Thank you.

You have to experiment to see which side of the couplers has pressure and which way to push the lever. Any questions feel free to ask. Armand

The valve will have a knob with two flat sides on the end of the valve. There is a roll pin in the knob that is indexed in a piece of tin There is a S for single and that is where it should be rotated. Do not use it part way, it will not work, and it will load the engine and over heat the hydraulics.
The front or rear port can be plugged to prevent contamination. Whichever is connected to the cylinder will operate, but the lever will need to be pushed the opposite way to make it work. JimN

Dave: I am assuming that the utility hyd. valves are close to working the same as the valves on the row crops as that is what I grew up with. That is why I said to check your manual. Hope I am at least close to being right. Armand

Hello Armand and Janicholson, Thanks for the information. I could see in the manual where it said to switch from "D" & "S" but just didn't understand how that valve worked, ie, if either line worked or if one was pressure and the other return. Both of you clarified all the questions I had. Thank you very much!! No wonder this site is the greatest! Thanks again.
