farmall cub problem running

I am having a problem with my early 50s farmall cub. It will run only on choke half way. I rebuilt the carborator but it still will not run right. I noticed that there was a screw for the choke lever that was missing but the other one was there. i was wondering if the carb could be sucking in air. Can you help me with any information leading to the problem of my tractor that would be great, THANKS

It probably is sucking air from somewhere, around the butterfly shaft or the gasket. Think about what you're doing when you close the choke. You're reducing the amount of air. squirt some oil aroud the gasket and the shaft and open the choke a little and see if it runs better. That may tell you where it's getting the air.

Spray some wd-40 or something similar around your intake manifold may a gasket leaking there
I have had this problem before

You need to make sure you're getting a good flow of gas to the carburetor. Remove the gas line and see if there's a full stream of gas. If you have inline filter I would remove it. If the gas flow looks ok remove the tube fitting where your gas line connects and see if there's a screen behind the fitting that may be clogged. Hal
