can you tell me how to charge the generator, or polarize the generator?

To Polarize a Generator with a 3 or 4 terminal Voltage Regulator, you can use a small jumper wire to EITHER momentarily flash jump from BAT on the VR to ARM/GEN on the VR and you should get a small spark OR ELSE (like if its a 4 terminal VR where the ARM terminal is underneath or hard to get to) jump from BAT on the VR direct down to the Gennys ARM post.

If it has a 2 wire (BAT and GEN) Cutout Relay, simply flash across it, i.e. its BAT terminal over to its GEN terminal and get the spark.

Its possible to Polarize off the tractor on a bench also using a battery.

Take a short piece of wire, and touch one end to the BAT terminal on your regulator or relay, and briefly touch the other to the GEN terminal. This should give you a small spark.

Seems too, simple, but that's all there is to it. All that's really required is that your battery be hooked up before you polarize, because it's that polarity that the generator will now charge to.
