i have M and it was running fine when i parked it. it had great oil pressure. now its locked down. someone told me that the condentsaion from exhaust would cause this. anyone know that to be true and if so give me so pointers to break uit loose?

Its true, it can happen.

Un bolt the starter first and make sure thats free

Then while thats out and with the ignition off put the tractor in high gear and you and a buddy rock it back and forth gently

Try loosening the starter bolts, sometimes the starter drive gets stuck in the forward position against the flywheel, and nothing will move. This is common.

Pull all the spark plugs out and see if it will spin over. Did you by chance leave the gas turned on if you did one or more of the cylinders could be full of gas and that would cause it not to spin over. Or you might have a bad head gasket and have water in the cylinders from that also. Also with the plugs out take a stick or something like that and make sure you do not have water in the cylinders etc. If there dry and it will not turn over fill the cylinders with ATF and let it sit a week or so then after a week see if it will spin over. Be sure you put the plugs back in for that week and pull them back out when you try to spin it over

ok. i'm game for anything at this point. i know when i parked it, it was running great with good oil pressure.

i havent use it in about a yr or so. its been outside and muffler has a flap on it. i really can't see it locking down like that but it did.

the problem with the rain cap on top is that in the wind they stand stright up and let water in.

If you cant get it to turn over you should douse the cylinders with pb blaster through the spark plug holes IMO

Pull the sparkplugs and look down inside the cylinders with a borescope light to see how rusty they are. If there's water on top of the pistons you need to get that out and pour ATF fluid on top of the pistons and let it soak.

Try just bumping the starter to see if the fan moves. You need to be patient. If it doesn't free up pull the head and see how bad the cylinders are pitted. You may need to rebuild the engine. We always shedded our tractors. Hal

When you're not going to be using the tractor
for a long period of time pull the spark plugs and pour or squirt several ounces of clean engine on top of the pistons. Then slowly bump over the engine one revolution and add a few more ounces of oil and install the plugs. Hal
