1086 Hydraulic Question

Is there a way to adjust the detent on the remote spool valves? While spreading lime a few days ago I had to clamp the lever to keep the spreader motor running. All three remotes are worn from use through the years. Tom

I run a hydraulic pump on my sprayer with a 1086.

There is a lot of resistance in those hydraulic motors. So any little bump can cause the lever to kick out, as if the cylinder has reached the end of the stroke.

I have been clamping the lever for about 5 years now. If I don't the lever trips out without notice.

Keep clamping it.

I have a 3288 and the recomended way to operate a hydaulic motor is by using lever in the lower position.A small lockout in the console prevents lever from moving to neutral.Off is in float position.I had to rebuild linkage so that it could be properly adjusted and it now works well.

The adjustment is in the end of the control valve. There should be a small dust cover that can be removed and then you can use a screwdriver to adjust the detent pressure. If you go too far the lever will not return even when the relief valve opens.
