C175 rebuild. Have main bearing bolts oiled and torqued to specs. The bolts have a thick flat washer under the head. They also have a wire hole in head. How is this wire hole used? These bolts came with replacement block so I did not see how they were originaly. Should I use thread sealer on bolts or is this unnecessary? Thanks, LG

I have never safety wired a main bearing before but I have safety wired many airplane propeller hubs. I am sure someone will tell you the correct way.
For bolts in a circle, take two pieces of safety wire long enough to complete the circle while twisted.
Twist two ends together
Put one wire thru a bolt hole.
Then wist the two tight all the way to the next bolt.
Put one wire thru the next bolt hole.
Twist tight all the way to the next bolt.
Continue until you have wired all the bolt heads together.
Twist the two loose ends tight together at the end and wrap several times around the last section you came thru.
There is a safety wire tool, similar to a pair of pliers that makes the job easy. Small vise grips will work.
Some people wire in sets of two. Either way is fine.
The idea is to keep the bolts from coming loose.

I will add to delberts description.
Placing the wire through the holes so that if a bolt head or nut were to turn (in the loosening direction) thet the wire will be under increased tension. This prevents backing off of the tightness, at least until the wire breaks. Safety wire needs to be inconel, or other corrosion resistant material, or it just rust away. JimN
