M tractor carburetor or governor

I am having trouble with the throttle on my M tractor. At times it will work and that the other times it will not. If I hit the silver shaft coming for the governor it will kind of worked. When it does work it acts like it is under power. I have taken the carburetor off from the silver shaft form the governor to put a head on the tractor I don"t know if when I put it back together if I have something out of place or if it needs a good cleaning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brad

sounds like the shaft coming for them governor either is binding against the sides of the hosing (the sliver piece you see) or is not properly lined up with the carb slots. I would remove and clean like you think. spray some lube in there tri flow, pb, etc. make sure the shaft is lined up when installing.

also come to think of it to. you can check the gov. spring. that is located inside of the gav. housing. it may be getting tired/broken. but check the linkage first.
