I pulled the oil pan off everything clean as a pin. pulled a main cap and rod cap off and they showed.010 so the engine has been rebuilt tractor shows 5100 hours checked the mains with plastiguage showed .003 good checked the rods showed .004 could not figure out why low oil pressure. looked up at the cam bearings the one at the rear of the block is missing. someone has rebuilt the engine and left the rear cam bearig out. that is were I am loosing all my pressure.

The rear cam bushing is pretty short and can set back quite far in the bore, may be difficult to see. Hard to believe anyone would leave it out, of course, anything is possible.

That is a bit on the loose side as .0015-.002 . on the mains and rods . And we have know idea how much is on the cam bearings . So along with a 10 weight oil it is no wonder why she is low . And god only knows how good the pump is .And how good the pressure relief valve is .

The block is bored for the oil passage in the center of the web from the main bearing up to the cam bearing. You should not be able to go back far enough to reach that hole.

There is a drain hole for the rear cam bearing near the back of the block. It is drilled at an angle. The bearing should not be so far back that it covers this hole. I have seen bearings installed so that the oil hole in the bearing is aligned with the drain hole instead of the hole coming from the crankshaft. I do not remember if that left the bearing covering the feed hole or not.

YEa the wife distracted me and i lost my train of thought for a min and hit the post button before i was ready . He has way tomuch clearance in the bearings and maybe a prump problem and there is no magic cure other then taking her down and starting over . After buying selling and fixing as may 706 's that i have been thru in the 19 years that i had my shop going and my buying them out of the dead rows at the big sales and bring them back to life and selling them and keeping the two that my two friends have i am pretty sure i know 706's as on the average i would pick up 4-6 a month for 19 years .so that is one tractor that i have had every nut and bolt out of .

I looked up through the oil hole and i can see the bearing the oil drain hole and looks like the hole in the bearing lines up
