Put the soil saver and tractors away for the season Wed. night. Inch of snow on the ground today. Talk about timing, first thing that seemed to go right this year. Now time to do all the other things that one usually has done this time of year but did'nt get done because of the late fall. Weatherman said firstime ever that October was colder than November. Hope everybody has had a safe harvest and a good one. If you're not farming and just posting and watching hope you're doing fine also.

Still a lot of corn, beans and milo to cut in Kansas. Too wet earlier, grain didn't dry and fields were muddy. I drive from SC KS to NE KS almost every week and a lot of the fields that guys did get into earlier have tracks 6" deep or more all over. Mon and Wed. of this week, most farmers were still harvesting like crazy when they should be done by now. Messing up their crop rotation because some of the row crops should have been out in time to plant winter wheat... won't happen now.

Still a lot of corn in the fields in Illinois, also.

It must be tough to watch the flakes fall on your standing corn. I am glad that I am not a full-time farmer!
