could someone show me a picture of a 400 or 450 gas manifold please? have a buddy that has a few manifolds layin around and wanted to give me his IH ones...didn"t wanna walk outta there with a oliver and allis chalmers manifold ha ha, none have paint to tell and i"m a H and M man, so i don"t know how they look..thanks again-Ted

Ribs were introduced with the 450 gasoline engine. Goto caseih.com parts book for a picture of the ribbed manifold. The picture below is a gasoline manifold from a SMTA. Same manifold on 400s.

Wardner, That manifold wasn't on 400 gas tractors, unless carried over to some very early ones. For pictures go to parts and pieces at left side of page, then put manifold in the search box. You should find 4 pictures of gas manifolds. Farmall 400 is one, also the ribbed manifold the other poster asked about.

I took a peek at my F-400 (serial #519) and it appeared to be the same as the SMTA picture I posted. I opted to post the SMTA manifold because the 400 has its hood sheets on. So I guess you are right about old parts being carried forward. Wheels are six spoke as well.
