working on my SMD and having some trouble finding parts such as a head gasket and rings. anyone know were to find parts for these diesels?

or joe's farmall parts or your case ih dealer

Case/IH still sells a lot of the parts....just brace yourself for a case of sticker shock....

Hastings sells the rings. You need to know what size the rings are (bore size and width, and if your top ring is a keystone). If memory serves me right my set was around $250.00. I think the gaskets are still available from you CIH dealer. If you can"t find what you need call Dave at Fairview Farm Supply (866.882.8880), he will treat you right.

I'll second the sticker shock. Won't even tell you how many $1000's are in my SMD.

CIH have rings and gasket. I think the rings were about $100/hole, same with valves.
