Frozen WD-9

I have a WD-9 that I backed into the barn several years ago and forgot to drain the water out of the engine. I noticed that the tank heater had expanded. What kind of damage could have been done? I tried filling the radiator and had water seeping out of the water jacket plates. Do these plates function like soft plugs in other engines?

Should I replace the water jacket gaskets, and try to get it to run? Or do I need to tear down the block and have it checked for cracks?

Thanks for the help!

your pretty darn lucky if thats all the damage you can see.could have been the block split wide open. probably do the simplist first, fix what you see and hope for the best. if you do get it running check for water in oil and external leaks around block and rad.or water blowing out exhaust. even if you had a small amount of anti freese in there damage is not so extensive as straight water.
