1086 Batteries

I have a new to me 1086 with a cab.

How do you get the batteries out of this thing?

I see the little door/steps in the cab to get to the posts, but the batteries look bolted in pretty good.

Take the covers off of the front of the battery boxes and they will slide out the front once you have the cables and hold downs off.

One little bit of advice. Take the grounds off both batteries first before you even touch the positive cables. It avoids sparks and flashes and the resulting cuts and bruises you might get when you flinch. BTDT.Jim

Make a sketch on how the batteries are installed
in case you have a problem remembering. Good advice on removing those ground cables and reconnect them last when reinstalling the batteries. Hal

There is a cover on the front side under the cab on the end of the box,take bolts out and slide it out
