Super A w/ Zenith Carb. (carb. recommendations)

Hi all,

I"m looking at having to replace the carb. on my Super A. It has the original Zenith type. Some operable issues and upon getting at the guts I found the float hinge was welded long ago and in doing so the "orafice/jet" from the fuel line is impossible to remove and replace. So thus...the question is anyone have thoughts or experiences with the new Zenith type being offered through this site and/or thoughts and suggestions on rebuilt and/or used carbs.

Appreciate you thoughts.

No! ;8^)

Both started out as near hopeless, one a Carter, the other an old Zenith. They are still here, waiting for a solution.

The Carter was on the SuperC and I was never able to find a complete enough kit to get it running right. I keep half an eye on the posts around here for a source for a better, more complete kit, but nada.

The Zenith on the BN is probably not gonna be salvable. I hauled it out periodically when I'd have an hour or so between cuttin' grass and startin' supper and pick and scrub and poke at it, and at one time thought it ought to work, so tried it but, again, nada. But it had sat full of water for several years and, as clean as I have it, I expect that the ports in it (all of which I can pass light gauge guitar strings through) have suffered enough pitting and scaling of same type that makes the rest of the body and bowl look nasty, even when clean, that it may never come around. But it's here, waiting, in case a solution comes along.

Pass the ketchup!!! No, just pokin' fun at you. I just did one which I probably should have just replaced...but I have a reputation to maintain, such as it is. Well, I hope you and yours have a wonderful turkey day! Heading down to Kalamazoo to pick up an IH 120 mower I happened on for a good price. Then back here for some family time. Have a good one! Apologies to Brian for hijacking his post...hope his holiday is a great one too!

Update on our plans will be on Tales in a few minutes.

We're hitchhiking, not hijacking. Safe travels and best wishes for a good, family kind of holiday.
