1066 Tachometer has cloudy face

I got a different tach for my 1066 as it was impossible to see thru the face. The new used one is a little cloudy and wanted to try to clear it up before I stuck it in. I think Allen in Neb told me what to use to try to clean the old one up but it has been a while and darned if I remember or can find in archives. It was some sort of paste and a lot of elbow grease. Please refresh my memory.

Try using toothpaste. (not the gel kind).

I use brasso on both glass & plastic takes some elbo grease but works pretty darn good. After you get them clean with the brasso then clean with windex.
I have used this on boat windshields scooter wind screens etc,

You can also go to your local auto parts store or body shop and get a plastic headlight repair kit. It will have plastic polish and sandpaper from about 600 to 12000 grit. You are just going to sand the oxidation off and then polish out the sanding marks. Takes about an hour to do a headlight.

Do a google on repairing scratched eyeglasses and you will be amazed at what people use to remove the scratches both glass and plastic.
