Spark Plug Wires

I have an International C with conventional distributor. It was late at night and I was tired and managed to get the spark plug wires out of order. The tractor is new to me so I don"t have a manual yet. Any help here on getting this thing right? Many thanks in advance and Happy Holidays.

If it is like my A, the firing order will be stamped on the side of the block just above and behind the distributor. You may have to clean it up a bit to see it. Also, there should be a mark on the distributor cap for #1.

when you look at the dist. the wires should look like this 21 firing order is 1-3-4-2
43

number one is in the front toward rad.

Thanks, Guys. If I can find #1 on the distributor I can take it from there. I am sitting at my desk, but I believe the rotor goes clockwise, so I will arrange the wires in the firing order. Again, Happy Holidays.

1-3-4-2 is your correct order.

#1 in most often located at about 2 o'clock on the cap when viewed from the rear. Plug in clockwise from there.

It that doesn't get it, pull your #1 plug and turn the engine until you can feel the air forcing out the plug hole on the compression stroke. Make a mark on your distributor body where you think #1 ought to be and pull the cap to see if the rotor is coming up on that mark. If not, look it over and put #1 on the tower on the cap that the rotor is approaching and go from there.

To fix the stuck clutch in an open area put the tractor in gear with the clutch in and start it. Drive around and keep working the clutch. Once the clutch disengages enough to let the tractor stop it may not allow you to shift. If that happens shut it down and put it in fourth gear. Fire it up and put the front end against something solid and slip the clutch a few time then see if it will allow you to shift it may take some fooling aroungd but the clutch may eventually come around. Worst case scenario you have to split the tractor and put in a new clutch.
