I have an IH 966. We put a new clutch in it, but it still won't move. Can anyone help me out on this one?

first off where did ya get the clutch , second did you grind the flywheel and third did ya take the shipping nuts out from be hind the release fingers ??

There's a ton of things that could be wrong, from something as simple-stupid as the engine not running, to a severly misadjusted clutch, to an improperly installed clutch, to a bad TA, to a messed-up MCV valve, to any number of busted parts in the drivetrain from the engine back to the rear differential.

The question is, why did you replace the clutch? Did you know for sure it was bad, or were you just guessing?

While you were in there did you also replace the live PTO/hydraulic drive gear? It's a tube that slips over the transmission input shaft, and splines in with the pressure plate. The splines that fit into the pressure plate are often badly worn, or even gone. It's a good idea to replace it whenever you replace the clutch. If that's shot, you got no hydraulics, and the tractor won't move without hydraulics because the TA is operated by hydraulic clutches.

This may be a problem that's best to let a professional handle.
