460/560 Question

Hello again everyone in tractorland! I browse this site every day and don"t hear much about 460"s and 560"s. I live in eastern illinois and from time to time see these tractors go for nothing. 1,000 to maybe 2,500 bucks in decent shape. Of course the TA"s are ussually out but in really nice farm shape. Question is Why??? I"ve drove a few 460"s in my life and never liked them. I"m 6"4 and that dang shifter is just a booger gettin by my left knee. So why are they so cheap around here?!

Cheap because of the hitch. If they had a good draft controlled 3-pt, and 80's or 90's modern direct start diesels they'd be unbeatable. The fact that they are 50 years old, and many have had 5 or 6 owners and they are still out there working speaks wonders.

You ask why do they go so cheap, then complain about not liking the tractor...

I think you answered your own question.

There again, I'm not seeing the same thing. Most of the 60-series I see for sale, they think its gold plated... or it's complete junk.

I'd love a 460 or 560 diesel, just can't afford the crazy prices.
