I am looking to purchase a 385 and was wondering if it will handle a big round bale on the 3 pt. I imagine it will, but wanted to make sure. I found one that is a little faded w/ a 6ft 3pt woods rotary mower, 10ft 3 pt Rhino disc, 6ft box blade for $3500 OBO. Doesn"t seem like too bad of a deal. If I get I would like to find a WL 42 for it.

Thanks,

RM

I have not found an IH model 385 are your numbers right and what country are you in. IH 384 yes, but may be a different tractor.

I've seen it and it is a IH 385. Late model IH though before they changed to the Case IH. Not too many of them around. There are a few posts on here about the IH's though.

Hi Russ, IH closed the Bradford factory were the small tractors wetre made in 1982. The last tractors made there were the 384 models so IH here in the UK imported smaii tractors from France for a short while to fiil the gap. The tractor they imported was called 385 in the UK and it had a 3cyl German diesel engine of 155 cu ins. The cabs were the same as the 384 and the tractor was built at the Doncaster UK plant. MJ

We had an IH 385. Bought it new in 1985....one of the very last IH's.

No reason it won't handle a dry hay round bale on a 3pt spear.

384 4cyl 8F-2R & Bradford built
385 3cyl 8F-4R & Doncaster built

two totally different tractors.
