Going to look at a W9 this weekend engine is stuck and from the looks of it has not run in some time. im quite familar with the letter series but not the W's espically the 9. is there to look for as in week points? i know the parts for these are hard to find (new at least) are things like ring sets and head gaskest still out there ?

Went and looked at this a the 9 and unfortunately there seems to be a little to much to take on for what its worth oh well keep looking

Perhaps the biggest problem you will encounter is a cracked head. Happens near the valve area. Once took the head off of 3 of them and all three were cracked. My WR9 has cracks pinned in all four cylinders.

Ive seen head gaskets on eBay for $60. Rings shouldn't be a problem. Generic rings can be purchased from a motor rebuilder or other source. I have an I-9 engine that I will not be putting back together. If you need any engine parts, give me a hollar.
