IH 574 hand pump

The hand pump on my IH 574 was leaking. Took it to a hydralics shop and they put a seal kit in it. No more leak, but put it back in the tractor and the steering is all crazy and turns by itself. Any tips?

Ok, I'll plead stupid, but whats a "hand pump"?

I have a IH 574 myself, but haven't a clue what you could be referring to.

It's a hydraulic valve in the steering column.

Tip, you will have to take it back apart as it is indexed incorrectly internally.

That's what we figured and why we took it to a shop in the first place--so we wouldn't do the same thing. I've been trying to find a schematic to take back to the shop with me, but no luck so far.
