IH C parts

I bought a C and it has two (one on each side) flat pieces of steel bolted to the front end just under the mounting holes for the cultivator. These appear to be factory made and are about 5/8-3/4 inch thick , 2inches wide and about 14 inches long with about 6-7 inches extened to the rear of the tractor. I know a picture would probably help but.........

As the picture below shows, they are self explanatory for a WFE. I think they can be left on if yours has a narrow front, but then they serve no function.

Thank you for you answers and picture. The ones on my narrow-front tractor are pointed to the rear.

Sounds like your C had a wide front on it at one time. The owner removed the wide front and turned the straps around so they wouldn't catch people in the leg if they walked too close.

Seems like it would've been a lot less work to have simply left them off when the wide front was removed. They belong with the wide front.
