i recently blew the head gasket on my farmall H, got it rebuilt this weekend, everything looked good when i had it tore apart. put all new gaskets in everywhere, torqued everything, set the valve gaps. i changed the oil once, started it (starts and idles great) and ran it for 10-15 minutes, then changed the oil again. it starts great and runs nice and smooth, but when driving it doesn"t have the power it should. i can"t pull even small hills without it choking out and dying, what else should i be checking out to fix this problem, thanks

Was it running OK right before you blew the gasket?

If you got it hot when the gasket blew, you could have knocked the rings out of it.

You probably put new plugs in it and tried adjusting the carburetor?

I do not have an H but has similar problems with my C. Make sure the governor linkage is in synch with the carb. That is wide open throttle=wide open governor=wide open carb. Once it got this right I had a different tractor.

Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and see if it has good suction while someone make's an attempt to start the engine. You may have a vacuum leak if there's not much suction or could be worn rings & sleeves. Hal
