Cub starter problems

Ive had to take my starter in to the machanic that works on them 3 times now, and in all 3 he said it was oil in the starter. I finally took of the 4in disc cover under neith the torque tube, and nothing but junk/gunk cane out, No oil. What should I do? I intend to clean the cover and as much around it in the tube asa possible, but I doubt if that will be much,

Sounds like the rear engine seal is leaking and the flywheel is slinging the oil into the starter.

I agree, put a clean paper under it after it has been run a while, and if there is no drip I would be amazed. There is only the engine to supply oil, the oil pump is in that area, as is a cam bore soft plug. JimN

If you haven't already, remove the half moon cover at the bottom front of the bell housing. Be prepared for a lot of greasy dirt and crud.
