Farmall C pto spec

Look up the engine HP and Torque specifications (Tractor Data dot Com) and compute the torque based on the 540 rpm and engine speed at full load. this ratio will multiply the torque so PTO torque will be more than double the engine torque. Hp will remain the same.

here's a guess, anyone that's more into the physics feel free to elaborate...

HP = (Torque * RPM)/5252
20 = (T * 1650)/5252
T = 63.6 ft/lbs.
PTO is at 540 vs 1650 1650/540 = ~3 so...
T at PTO 63.6 * 3 = ~190ft/lbs.

Thanks to both....I shoulda been able to figure that one out.....I didn't find any torque specs on the motor.....Where did you find them?

I didn"t find torque specs either, that"s why I showed the HP formula and calculated it from hp and rated rpm. The Nebraska Tractor Tests Since 1920 book by CH Wendel shows the their 1948 (test#395) results of ~19.91 belt HP and the rated RPM for the C of 1650. This is somewhat of a fudge since it"s not clear what RPM the max belt HP was taken at? But I used "rated RPM" so should be good enough for a general point of reference. Hope that helps,
