Going to do complete overhaul on my Super A engine. Letters next to cylinders in block are 2 D's, a B and an F. How important is this? The run of the mill engine kits do not take this into account. My machine shop person indicates that he can get individual pistons/sleeves that are correct, likely for considerably more money. Is this necessary? Seems like there would be considerable difference between B and F. Tractor is light duty.

There are 2 different seal land diameters 3.311 and 3.437.this is the diameter where the the sleeve goes into the block at the o-ring grooves. E.P

Yes, but mine is supposed to be 3 7/16 (3.43) according to the 354898R2 block number. 3 5/16 (3.31) is for serial 250001-310299, an earlier engine. My serial is 350xxx.

Since these are wet sleeves I think you will be ok. If they were a press fit I would be more concerned. Hal
