I have a 1937 Mccormick Deering W-30 it look's great, but ran rough. I have rebuilt the carb and started the tractor and it still runs rough then I tryed to it another day and it would not start. I pulled out the spark plugs and tryed to spin the engine over and I could not see a spark. I then tryed to clean the points and still could see no spark. What is the best way to check out the the Mag to see if it is working correctly.

Take the mag off. Note where the "distributor" is pointing.

Cut a 3/8' socket extension in half. Put the male end in a drill. Put a socket that fits the drive end of the mag and use the drill to spin it. If you do not get a spark, purchase a coil and condensor from YT and you will get a great spark.
