If I shift out of gear before a complete stop, it is fine. When I can"t shift out of gear, its almost like the brakes are on. Is this a characteristic of the TA? [Reply]   [Send Email]

I followed the IH manual, but I'm no tractor mechanic. It didn't make any difference with the problem. I also had little clutch play. The clutch would either be out or in, not much in between (makes it hard to ease a load without a lot of hopping). paul case 11-07-2009 15:22:29 173.113.171.81 736901 Report to Moderator	Re: 560 Shifting in reply to Texas Denny, 11-07-2009 14:42:40   when it gets to where you cant get it out of gear try pulling the ta back iit should shift easy then . if that works your clutch and ta needs the linkage adjusted. shop manuals usually tell how yo do this. it must be just right on to work right but when you get it right it will work well. we have a 460 with ta on our farm since 79 and have used it hard .the ta works just as good as when we got it. two motor overhauls and 4 clutches later.hope this helps pc   [Reply]   [Send Email]

I haven"t tried it yet so don"t know if it will help. But if the TA were the reason, it would seem to only help in one direction of pressure. I figured if I knew the mechanism, I could fix it. The 560 is a lot big for my place but I have dreamed about owning and driving one since I was 12. I am enjoying it and enjoying the restoration.
