emblem restoration service?

I have the original tin emblem from my '44 H. It's got a few dents which should be easily straightened, but more importantly, it needs chromed and painted.

I tried to paint it once, and it looks like my 5 year old tried. :?

I thought about buying a new one, but I've been told they don't fit very well. Plus, the "tin" emblem on a war tractor gives at a little more original character IMO.

Does anyone know of someone that will restore an emblem to look new?

I bought a nice Farmall emblem from my local IH
dealer (Hazelton's in NH) about 15 years ago. The owner of the
dealership happened to be walking by the parts
counter, picked it up, and made a comment about how
nice it was. I agreed.

Don't know if that part is still in the IH inventory
system. The price was reasonable but I can't
remember how much.

It won't be restored to what the new one looks like -- I have dealt with emblem "restorers", and can do a better job myself (Not like new). Buy a new one, there are no significant differences between wartime tractors and the rest

It is my experience that aftermarket reproduction emblems rarely fit as well as an original. The screw holes are not located correctly.
