I am starting to restore my cub and I was wondering if you can get a new serial tag somewhere? The previous owner repainted the tractor (looks like he did it with a mop) and painted right over it. So then he took a grinder or something of that nature to it to remove the paint. Now you can barely read the numbers or any other part of it. So I would like to replace it just don't know where to get one or even if I can get one. Thanks |

Her husband (now deceased) used to make replacements and I see in the latest Red Power magazine she is now doing them. The numbers are engraved and not stamped in the same font and size as the originals by a jeweler. She will have the correct tag for the year and model of your Cub. If you are ok with a lesser quality OEM will stamp them for you as well a little cheaper I believe. The ones from Steiner you will have to stamp yourself. Hope this helps, Hal. |
Well that is good news that Mrs. Diener is continuing with the service.

| Steiner sells them and I am sure many others do too. Google "Farmall Cub Parts" and you will get a few hits. My Loboy and my MTA both have serial numbers in that condition. May not look nice but it IS the original tag most likely. I left mine alone. |
