Hey Red Power folks, thanks for the welcome from my prior post, some nice people here. I just thought about some red tractors that were offered to me during my JD 4020 hunting. These were for sale in Rena Lara, Mississippi, thats 10-12 miles west of Clarksdale, MS on hwy 1. It is an estate sale in slow motion. My brother and I bought the Fords and John Deeres (except for the 4020LP still in use there on this place) and did not have room nor money for the Farmalls. I included a photo of one of the Deeres that was hard to get. They wanted $250.00 each, except for the wide front M and not sure on it, I think $500.00. ALSO the collector/gentleman who passed away, Mr. Gordon Keith, had lots of spare parts, many NOS in the box stored there. I bought the JD parts but in the old school buses and barns, I saw many new IHC NOS parts and other used parts. IHC Camshafts, piston rings, rod & main bearings, etc. in old boxes. Here are some photos of the tractors I am talking about. The young man to contact is Robert Keith at 662-645-5544. The Keith family are good folks and deal honestly and fairly.

Thanks for posting. I hope someone looks into that.

Look at the rear tires on the M pictured in #4/#7! Those things are huge and gnarly!

If anybody is interested just check with Robert Keith about prices. I was able to buy what I bought reasonable. Thanks, Paul

ncpapaul,

I thought you were from North Central Pennsylvania, but then again, maybe your are. I'd like to wander around that yard but it is too far away from New England.

That mid mount Behlen was interesting. I wonder how well the hood fit. The Cotton Picker PTO is hard to find up here. There are some nice tires and good sheetmetal. The reverse operation hardware is also unavailable. I'll bet there was some high crop stuff in there too.

Oh well, I have enough stuff. I expect someday my iron will be given away too, but knowing my relatives, they were probably pay someone to "decontaminate" my few acres and barn. Everything dropped from ten feet into a dumpster. That includes Elwoods, Electralls, and Harleys. Ya, they are idiots.

Its all in north Mississippi, so am I, pretty long way from you. LP conversions, picker conversions are all over down here BUT most of the tractors have been dogged driven to death by hired hands and others. We get better tractors over in the "hills" (inside joke there, our hills are mounds to ya'll), they have been on small farms, taken care of by owner/operators. Just about all the equipment has been sold off for scrap price. There are some of us left poking around in nooks and crannys digging out the old iron. Paul

2 questions..

What is holding this tractors front end on??? Maybe the other rail is in place.

Also, what is the thing under the gas tank that comes out to the side on this one?

Looks like one bolt maybe holding, scary. And I THINK that part coming out under the tank is part of a cotton picker attachment, not sure. Paul
