T A on Super MTA

You have to split the tractor. After that my understanding is that it is not a terrible job. There is a video on a TA repair on this very tractor. Was available once at TSC but I think you can find it here or at other suppliers or ebay. I have seen the video and did not see anything in it that would scare me off the job. I think the most intimidating part for most folks is the splitting issue. I would evaluate the tractor carefully and do everything that might need doing while it was apart.

$MONEY$! lol. I did my 300 over 10 years ago and I assume the MTA is very similar. Splitting the tractor was the hardest part. Definetly going to want a manual for reference and adjustment.

If lucky enough to find all shafts, gears, bearings, T/A clutch and a few other parts in good shape. Provided no labor charge and all is needed is ramp and roller assembly work or replaced with a remanufactured ramp and roller assembly and also the carrier turned and with new gaskets and seals you may be able to get by with less than $300 not counting oil. Price goes up from there.

You need to split the tractor and of course it"s the last part to come out and the first part to go back in. You can replace parts or entire t/a. I would replace the t/a clutch also while you are there usually they are junk anyway. I have replacement parts and the gasket kit on hand. Feel free to send an email with questions.

As mentioned, the split, actually a double split, is the worst part. When I did mine I used my tractor loader to remove the torque tube and take to a bench where I could work on it. I had the blue ribbon guide, IT manual and also the parts manual, used all of them. I probably had about $300 in mine with a rebuilt ramp and roller setup and gaskets. My ta clutch disc was good. I didn't think it was a tough job to do but then I have worked on tractors for many years and have equipment to handle heavy parts. The book really helped as there was one bolt that you couldn't see.
