OIL IN RADIATOR

Was looking to buy a Super"A" the other day and the radiator was full of what appeared to be oil, not antifreeze. Anybody heard of such a thing and how it might have got there?

Sometimes when water gets in the oil they just use oil in the cooling system. We had the problem on a fork truck they told us to just fill the radiator with engine oil its been running that way for over 10yrs now.

Gene,
I am speechless. In all my years of being around this stuff I have never heard of this done.
It is an interesting concept and brings up and interesting point. What is the boiling point of oil? Does it cool as well as water?
And if it works why dont cars come from the factory that way. It would save worrying over blown head gaskets.
I am in a daze here :)
