We've got a 1950 Cub...it's been sitting the better part of a year. It starts right up & idles fine, but when you try to give it gas, it just stalls out...I can drive it around @ low RPM, as soon as I advance the throttle, it dies...I know it's got to be fuel or spark, where should I start? carb cleaning? I filed my points & it gets a good spark.

When it is running is it smooth or is there a miss in it? I have had two of them syick a valve after sitting a period of time.

Not saying that this is the problem but this sounds just like the two i had.

Clean everything out ,change the plugs, wires points/cond clean the carb and go from there.

There very simple machines to work on.

Just in from cleanig the carb, that seemed to do the trick, I haven't "worked" it yet, but, I took it up & down our road (we have some good hills), & it seemed fine
