350 Farmall RC Distributor hydraulic pump

I was getting oil in the distributor. I Just replaced the end seals in the Distributor pump and reinstalled the pump and distributor. I can not get the pump to build pressure. Since I drained the lines, does the pump have to be primed or what may be the problem? Help please.

Some of the pumps have a bleeding port on the top of the housing, some do not. Try that first.
Then if no success, drive the tractor so the rear tires are substantially higher than the front. (ditch, loading dock, ramp) then run the hydraulics (hitch or implement cylinder) up bown repeatedly for as much as 15 minutes. This can work. Sometimes they are a bear to prime. JimN
